Just Do It for Jesus

Materials Needed:

  • Internet access

After students are arrived, tell them you’ll watch a video about a social experiment conducted to see how people would respond to someone in need. Watch the video with your class and then discuss the following questions [3:06]:
Would You Help a Homeless Teen?

  • This video shows a homeless teenager on the street. How did most people react to the teen? (They walked by, they ignored her, etc.)
  • What do you think causes us to treat people differently? What does this video experiment suggest about our human nature? (Students will likely be able to express how our compassion is often influenced by outer appearances.)
  • Have you or your family ever stopped to help someone you didn’t know? Share your experience. (Answers will vary. Be careful to not let one student’s details spill over into a long narrative.)

God will always bring people into our lives who need our love and compassion. Let’s see what the Bible says about how to treat others.
